OFDCMC

The Ogof Ffynnon Ddu Cave Management Committee (OFDCMC) meets twice a year to discuss issues relating to cave access and conservation within the National Nature Reserve and the related Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI's).

The OFDCMC is made up representatives from a number of bodies with an interest in the cave and the surrounding landscape. These include Natural Resources Wales (both as a landowner and a Statutory Body), South Wales Caving Club and the Cambrian Caving Council (representing the interests of other cavers). As the nearest caving club (its headquarters is directly above the cave), volunteers from South Wales Caving Club carry out much of the administration work on behalf of the committee - including managing access to keys and issuing permits.
