Sadly I have to report that John Heath, a member of SWCC for many years, passed away last week. As yet I have no details of the funeral arrangements, but will pass them on promptly when I get them.
Just a quick reminder of up coming trips on the club calendar
20-21 February - Yorkshire, contact Jo White
26-7 March - Mendip, contact Claire Vivian
24-26 June - North Wales Mines, contact Allan Richardson
Jo White has asked for some help in chosing the logo for the club's 70th anniversary celebrations and, no doubt, merchandise. Now pay attention here because Jo has asked for your votes on three separate, but related topics. Firstly, can you vote for your favourite Dragon logo, secondly can you vote for your favourite B&W logo and finally can you vote on whether you prefer a Dragon or B&W logo. In each section there is a link to a doodle poll, where the options will be as per the caption under each photo.

Just a quick update on this, ticket sales are going very well with over 100 people already booked. There is now the real possibility that we will run into the venue's capacity limits and have to turn late bookers away, so if you want to come then book your place soon. Apparently there are still quite a few rooms available at the hotel if anyone fancy making a night of it. Latest info is on the website.
I have had a request from a photographer, Mark Griffiths, who is interested in finding photography models for cave photography. In his own words:
ÒI am in the process of photographing various individuals and groups
for a book due for release late next year. The book will be titled 'notes from
the old country' and is a photographic exploration of my native land (wales)
and the people that inhabit it. I am particularly interested in those that use
the landscape in someway or another for work, enjoyment or simply peace of mind
and came across your website. Do you know any caver groups or individuals in
south, west, east or mid wales that you could possibly put me in touch with? Or
if you could possibly put a shout out to willing participants that would be
most appreciated.Ó
Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment or vote on the new eNews format. The result was a considerable majority in favour of the new format (about 4 to 1), with the communist gripe being the slightly off square photos (hopefully now rectified). As a result, as you can see, I have moved over to the new format. There were a few people with older IT that had difficulty with the new format, and it is less easy to archive on the club website, so I will also produce a 'basics' version and provide a link to that as well.
